Every issue is a moral issue
CNN's Jack Cafferty has advice for the GOP: Park your morality at the door.
On June 14, Mr. Cafferty expressed surprise that, in the previous night's presidential debate, "social issues -- like abortion, gay marriage, 'don't ask, don't tell' -- still manage to work their way into the conversation. And that may prove to be a problem for Republicans....These are not the issues that middle America is worried about. They would like to be able to find a job."
I submit that these so-called "social issues" mean more to "middle America" than Cafferty realizes. We call them "moral issues." To us, abortion is the slaughter of innocent human life, on a moral level with genocide or the slave trade. Read full article
Feds' rhetoric imperils Christian values, beliefs
A California-based organization has released its annual list of anti-Christian acts in America for 2010 -- a list determined through an online poll. The list included stories like the Department of Homeland Security's report on "Rightwing Extremism," which labeled conservative Christians as potential terrorists -- or when police officers were called to a middle school in Kentucky to stop eighth-graders from praying during lunch for a student whose mother was tragically killed. Christians bringing values into voting booth
New findings show that the 2010 midterm elections saw the highest Christian voter turnout ever. "We had a very high Christian voter turnout two years ago, but they did not bring their values with them," explains David Barton, founder and president of WallBuilders, which is an organization that supports the moral, religious and constitutional foundation on which America was built. Activist: Federal agencies should be 'hate groups' as well
A family-values group in Pennsylvania is arguing that at least three federal agencies should be included in the Southern Poverty Law Center's recent list of "hate groups."
The American Family Association of Pennsylvania is one of 13 organizations listed in the SPLC's annual report of "hate groups." Those organizations, according to the SPLC, propagate "anti-gay myths" about LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) people and, in effect, foster discrimination against such individuals.
