Invasion From Within
It is not a big revelation that America is a country of immigrants. Our heritage is the culmination of many nationalities and peoples coming together to form one nation under God. From its very beginning, one significant appeal of this "new country" was freedom from persecution(religious, political, economic). As people from many countries began inhabiting America, from New England to the Rockies and beyond, that freedom revealed itself in a diverse people that learned to live as Americans...not Irish, Chinese, French, or Mexican Americans, just Americans. This diversity is one reason for Americas greatness while at the same time contributing to her decline.
So how is immigration contributing to Americas' decline? Quite simply, the immigrants of the 19th century came to embrace America and adapt to it's culture while the immigrants of the 20th & 21st century largely expect America to embrace their home country and refuse to adapt it's culture. This fact has become obvious as our economy continues to weaken and illegal immigrants (California, Texas etc,) begin to go back home.
A Nation Of Laws
America is a nation of laws and the fact that people would come here illegally and then expect to receive all the rights and privileges of those who have come legally shows a disrespect. reports More than a million illegal immigrants have slipped into the United States in the past few years, raising the total in the country to 7 million. While most probably were not criminals before, as soon as they enter our country illegally they are. Unfortunately, many commit much worse. Though no federal statistics are kept on murders or any other crimes committed by illegal aliens, based on data collected from show an alarming trend. Statistics released by show that twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens, which translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually.
A society that has no respect for laws is close to be tyrannical. Of course the majority of Americans are law abiding. But as the illegal immigration problem increases, and our government continues to talk about amnesty, millions of people are entering our country, raising their children, influencing our political environment, while living as criminals. Just as if you tell a lie long enough you begin to believe it, if you break the law long enough you can forget that your conduct is illegal. this disregard for the law will no no doubt spill over to other areas. We see this as we begin to put into office a new President (and administration) whos' already displayed a disrespect for our laws (ie election fraud & constitutional integrity).
Melting Pot or Smorgasbord
To be clear, the problem is not immigration per se, the problem is illegal immigration. The term "Melting Pot" was given to America as people from many nations came together to live as Americans. Assimilation into society was done willingly while cultural traditions were held dear. And there was no question as to what language would be more important as to adapting to this new society. The immigrants of yesterday were eager to become Americans and take hold of the dream they gave up everything to receive. By and large, the immigrants of today are eager to take what will be useful to their families back home with very little interest in contributing to the American way of life. Instead of adapting to our culture. Americans are told that we should adapt to theirs. Terms like multi-culturalism are tossed around as a pre-requisite to being patriotic. Their religious practices are taught in our schools and glorified in the marketplace while Christianity is criminalized everywhere but church and the privacy of our homes. All the while our borders are being breeched, our cities overrun, our schools diluted, and our political system taken hostage. The invasion is in full swing and we've got to stop it.
